The Getty Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for 2012
Multicultural Undergraduate Internship (MUI) grants to museums and
visual arts
organizations are available. Since its inception in 1993, the MUI
program has
supported more than 2,500 internships in Los Angeles-area museums and
visual
arts organizations. The program aims to increase diversity in the
professions
related to the visual arts, and to provide programmatic support for
local
organizations.
The internships are intended specifically for outstanding students who
are
members of groups currently underrepresented in the museum and visual
arts
professions: individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic,
Native
American and Pacific Islander descent.
Museums of all types and nonprofit visual arts organizations of any size
that
are located in Los Angeles County are eligible to apply for the 2012
grants.
Applicants must have nonprofit status as defined by section 501(c)(3) of
the
United States Internal Revenue Service Code.
Applications are available online and must be submitted electronically
by
February 1, 2012. Please go to
