German composer Marc Behrens will give a guest lecture at Concordia University’s Music Department this Friday at 14:15, room 8.245 (EA classroom).
Behrens’s work is focused on field-recording trips to remote corners of the world, concrete electronic music, installations, and social art work, as well as photograph and video.
He is visiting Montreal to present his pieces Queendom; Sleppet(2–3) Avalanches, Water and Stones; and Sleppet (4) Glacier and Irregular Characters at the Akousma 8 festival (October 15th at Usine C).
Among other things, he also recently produced the upcoming compilation DEGEM CD 10 "Replace" for the German Association of Electroacoustic Music (DEGEM).
