Queer Bodies

GALERIA invites artists to submit work(s) for consideration in the first
Queer Art Exhibition of Queens. The first installment of the project
denominated Queer Bodies will focus on visual representations of the
masculine and / or feminine physique and the manner in which gender and
identity are constructed. Interested applicants using various media
(painting, sculpture, video, illustration, photography, digital arts,
installation, mixed media, etc.) are encouraged to apply. See guidelines for
submissions below.

GUIDELINES:
- Works must have been created by artists who identify themselves as Gay,
Lesbian or Transgender, or by artists whose works explore Queer issues.
- Works must relate or explore the theme of the exhibition Queer Bodies.

SUBMISSIONS:
* Images:
- Up to 5 digital images no larger than 1280 pixels in any direction and at
72 dpi.
- Digital images should be named with applicant’s full name and image #
(e.g. johnsmith_01.jpg, johnsmith_02.jpg, etc)
- In your email include title, medium, date, and a brief description of the
work(s)
- Short Bio (One Paragraph, no more than 150 words)
* Videos:
- In your email, include the link to your video on YouTube or Vimeo.
- Also include the title, and a two-sentences description of each video
submitted.
- Short Bio (One Paragraph, no more than 150 words).

GALERIA is a project of the recognized Queer film series, CINEMAROSA in
partnership with HOMBRES LOUNGE. GALERIA has been created as an alternative
art space to feature the work and projects of artists who identify
themselves as Gay, Lesbian or Transgender. In addition to the monthly
exhibitions featuring the work of Queer visual artists, GALERIA will serve
as a cultural hub for the presentation of Performance Art, video screenings,
and social events for networking and dialogue.

Avenue, Jackson Heights, Queens.
