Los Angeles Art Association & the City of West Hollywood are proud to announce Out There, a very special exhibition celebrating the LGBT experience during West Hollywood's Pride Month festivities. Out There is made possible by the City of West Hollywood Arts Grant Program and the Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission. Out There runs June 10-17 at Gallery 825.

Eligibility: Competition is open to all artists living in Southern California. Entries must be recent work, created within the last three years.
Media: All media. No craft or functional art. For video artists: please send 1/2" VHS, NTSC or DVD and make sure tape is cued. Accepted video artists must provide their own equipment--monitors, projectors, VHS etc.--and tapes must be dubbed for continuous play.
Fees: Non-members: $20 for up to 3 entries; each additional entry is $5. LAAA Members: Free for up to 3 entries; each additional entry is $5. Limit of 5 entries per person. Details of work limited to 2 per entry at no additional cost. Make checks payable to LAAA, do not send cash. Entry fees are non-refundable. Entry: The juror has requested all digital submissions, jpegs only (no higher than 300 dpi per image, no larger than 6"x 6"). Submissions must be burned onto a CD (no email submissions will be accepted) and mailed or dropped off to Gallery 825. Each image must be labeled with the artist's last name and title of the work (i.e. "Smith.birds" and "Smith. landscape") for easy identification by the juror. Video work must be burned onto a DVD and must be less than 10 minutes in duration and all information including name, title, date, medium, price and dimensions must be included on a word document. Do NOT send slides, printouts, resumes, bios or artist statements. No actual work will be reviewed by the juror. Important: Artists selected for this exhibition must have a high resolution jpeg image (300 dpi, 4"x 4") available for press purposes within 7 days of acceptance notification.
ENTRIES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY REGISTRATION FEE & COMPLETE REGISTRATION FORM.
Artists will be notified of selection by May 28 via e-mail.
Delivery of accepted work: Accepted work must be available June 4 - June 17, 2011. Work must be delivered to the gallery on Saturday, June 4, 10am-5pm. All other arrangements must be made in advance and approved by the gallery. All work must be properly framed and/or ready to hang, no saw-tooth or clip-on hangers, no exceptions. If work requires specific hardware, it must be provided when work is delivered. At the juror's discretion, work that is dirty, in disrepair or otherwise deemed unfit for display may be excluded from the show. Decisions of the juror are final. Work must be unwrapped upon delivery - LAAA will not store any packing materials.
Sales: All work will be offered for sale.All work must be priced to include LAAA's 50% commission. ** Payment of sales will be sent to artists 30 days after the close of the show.**
Liability: LAAA, its staff, Board or anyone connected to the exhibition will not be responsible for loss, damage, breakage or theft of artwork while at the gallery. Your entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with these terms and conditions as set forth in the prospectus.
