Venice Arts seeks a full-time Director of Programs, who will be
responsible both for managing and developing existing programs, as well
as working on new initiatives. Working under the supervision of the
Executive Director, the Director of Programs primary responsibilities
are to:
1. Manage And Develop The ArtPartner Program2. Manage Documentary
Projects (locally and outside the region)3. Develop Educational Assets
And Training4. Teach (limited in initial year to acquaint with
model/philosophy) Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be an
experienced educator with a personal practice as a photographer,
filmmaker, or multi-media artist; a background in documentary work or
journalism, strongly preferred, as is familiarity with the field of
participant- or youth-media. A minimum two years active experience
teaching photography, film, and/or multimedia to youth required. Must
possess a deep understanding of age-appropriate curriculum development.
Demonstrates experience successfully managing programs, projects, and
staff with a minimum of two years experience in a leadership position.
Demonstrates a high level of proficiency with technology and arts
software. Extremely well–organized, versatile, adept at managing
multiple projects and deadlines, and enjoy working in a nonprofit
setting. Excellent writer and communicator.
Salary and Benefits: This is a full–time, exempt position with a per
annum salary starting at $48,000. Benefits available after the initial
90–day period.
