Sponsor a free concert in your neighborhood! Deadline to apply is March 2
The Arts Commission makes grants available to community-based organizations to sponsor free public concerts in their neighborhoods. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors funds these concerts to provide quality music programming to the broad spectrum of County residents. The grants to sponsoring organizations cover the payment of musicians. Applicants to present free concerts must be willing to coordinate all logistics, production and marketing of the event, and demonstrate that they can effectively bring an appropriate audience size for their proposed concert to be considered. If you are part of a Los Angeles County-based park, library, hospital, juvenile hall, probation camp, arts organization, civic center, senior citizen center, or a non-profit performance venue and are interested in producing and marketing a free concert in your community, please read the program guidelines including information about eligibility and program requirements.
Guidelines and applications for the Los Angeles County Arts Commission's 2011 Free Concerts in Public Sites Program are now available at www.lacountyarts.org/free.html. Applications are due on Wednesday, March 2.
