The Global Theatre Project

http://theglobaltheatreproject.org/
The Global Theatre Project has been created to share our tradition of collaboration, organization, community outreach and educational processes globally as representatives of the authentic nature of our culture. What we propose is a new model for artistic and educational international experiences which:
* Allow the students and professional artists involved to expand as artists with their international counterparts
* Act as cultural ambassadors with the communities in which they are working
* Use theatre arts as the core art form because of its community-building and collaborative nature.

The Public School: Telic Arts Exchange
THE PUBLIC SCHOOL is a school with no curriculum. At the moment, it operates as follows: first, classes are proposed by the public (I want to learn this or I want to teach this); then, people have the opportunity to sign up for the classes (I also want to learn that); finally, when enough people have expressed interest, the school finds a teacher and offers the class to those who signed up.

Trash for Teaching
Dedicated to fostering creative expression and environmental awareness through unique recycled objects.
Trash for Teaching collects, stores and sorts enormous amounts of clean, cast-off materials from manufacturing processes. We work with school districts to develop guidelines utilizing these materials in conjunction with current standards-based curricula, and deliver the materials and guidelines directly to schools for teachers to introduce in classroom projects.

West of Rome Public Art

Pasadena, CA 91101

http://www.westofrome.org/
West of Rome, founded and directed by Emi Fontana, is a venture producing contemporary art projects. West of Rome is not anchored to a specific location, but explores a diversity of urban spaces. Nomadic by design, West of Rome Public Art is the first organization of its kind in Los Angeles. It operates outside of and without a permanent exhibition space. Each show, installation or event takes place in a different venue — sometimes off the beaten track, sometimes in the middle of a highly trafficked street — depending on the nature of each artist's project. The scale and nontraditional location of each project underscore the dynamic, continually evolving spirit of West of Rome. For a designated period of time these unorthodox exhibition sites become places of discovery for both the casual passerby and the attentive art visitor. An alternative to museum and gallery programs, West of Rome's projects engender a sense of community and collective experience that is often lost in traditional venues. At the same time, artists have the unique opportunity to develop and realize ambitious ideas that could never happen in a conventional setting.
