Development Associate
The Los Angeles County Arts Commission and Ford Theatre Foundation seek a full-time development associate. This new position will support the Arts Commission's Ford Theatres and Arts for All arts education collaborative in achieving development goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conducts research on grant opportunities and makes recommendations on funders to approach to support Arts for All and the Ford Theatres
* Interfaces with team members and conducts site visits to gather pertinent information to produce high quality proposals for new and continuing grant opportunities, as well as interim and final grant reports
* Develops systems and protocols to manage and track grant awards
* Writes all correspondence regarding grant administration
* Coordinates quarterly meetings of arts education funders
* Populates and maintains an online searchable database of funding opportunities for arts education
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
* Two to three years minimum experience in writing effective grant proposals for a not for profit organization, preferably in the arts field.
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in English, the arts or a related field
* Outstanding professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to capture and tell appropriately compelling stories
* Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet multiple competing deadlines
* Dependable, responsive, prepared, and flexible with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent computer skills, with complete fluency in Word and Excel
* Background in, or knowledge of, arts education and/or the performing arts preferred
COMPENSATION
The salary range is $40,000-$45,000 annually, depending on qualifications, plus benefits (health and dental).
