University of Southern California, Roski School of Fine Arts, invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track or tenured Assistant or Associate Professor, Ph.D. or equivalent, committed to the study and teaching of the theoretical, historical and scholarly aspects of the visual arts to art and design students.

The successful candidate is a scholar and/or critic with a strong record of national and international publications in modern and contemporary art with expertise in avant-garde and interdisciplinary practices, such as architecture and design; film, video and new media; and/or performance, dance and sound. Additional requirements are a commitment to teaching from global perspectives as well as five years experience teaching within a studio practice environment or an integrated practice and theory environment.

USC Roski School of Fine Arts is seeking an experienced scholar and teacher with a strong commitment to undergraduate education who will be responsible for developing the critical studies program within an undergraduate studio curriculum. The position entails developing lower and upper level undergraduate courses that are interdisciplinary and which support the study and integration of the theoretical and scholarly aspects of the visual arts in studio practice during the art or design student's course of study. The candidate will develop an innovative vision for undergraduate critical studies in collaboration with the Roski School faculty, and build upon existing linkages within the University.
