DIRECTOR OF SPONSORSHIPS, LOS ANGELES ASIAN PACIFIC FILM FESTIVAL

SUMMARY
The Director of Sponsorships is responsible for Visual Communication's fundraising efforts in corporate and community sponsorships. Visual Communications is a full service media arts organization focused on serving Asian Pacific media arts and artists. The Director of Sponsorships plans, directs and implements a comprehensive sponsor program that generates corporate and community support for VC's principal annual event, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
This person will work as an independent contractor, not an employee of Visual Communications. As an independent contractor, he/she will be paid for services rendered, and is in control of the means and manner of carrying out the project, within policies of conduct and procedure set forth by Visual Communications.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Visual Communications' Director of Sponsorship is responsible for the organization's marketing, public relations efforts, and fundraising through corporate sponsorship. Primary responsibility will include working with the Executive Director on the solicitation, management of current corporate sponsors and new corporate sponsorships.
The consultant agrees to the following tasks and deliverables and any work surrounding these items:
• Maintain current sponsor relationships; cultivate new corporate sponsorships;
• Ensure that sponsors receive proper benefits prior to, during and after the Film Festival;
• Administrate proper contracts and invoices for all sponsors;
• Conduct follow-up meetings with Sponsors to present Re-caps;
• Help festival team to plan an effective marketing campaign to generate audience attendance;
• Meet with and update Executive Director on a weekly basis regarding sponsor status;
• Attend the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (April 28-May 7, 2011); be main Sponsor contact at festival events;
• Participate in internal post-program evaluation of event along with festival staff;
The consultant further agrees to weekly check-in meetings and updates via phone or email with Visual Communications staff upon request.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Personal commitment to goals and mission of Visual Communications
• Minimum three years experience in marketing and/or sponsor development with proven results
• Demonstrated success in securing corporate sponsorships
• Demonstrated success with building strong client relationships
• Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships with staff and board
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Excellent management skills and ability to multi-task
• Must be extremely organized and able to work in high-paced environment
• Contacts in the marketing and philanthropic community desired
