School of the Art Institute of Chicago seeks artists for faculty positions

A leader in educating artists, designers, and scholars in the arts since
1866, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) now seeks
exceptional artists for full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions
in its undergraduate and graduate programs for Fall 2010.

SAIC seeks accomplished and versatile artists with relevant teaching
experience in contemporary approaches, concepts, techniques, and critical
issues as they pertain to current art practices in the departments of
Ceramics; Designed Objects; and Film, Video, and New Media production. For
its First Year Program, the School seeks a full-time faculty member who will
also fulfill the role of administrative director of the program. All
applicants are expected to include an artist's statement, a philosophy of
teaching, and a portfolio of current work. Rank and competitive salary for
each positio n is commensurate with experience, teaching, and current
professional status and is negotiated with the Dean of Faculty at the point
of hire.
