The Goethe-Institut los Angeles participates in the citywide celebrations around the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
One of the projects of the organizers is a contest whose deadline has just been extended until October 31st 2009. With two roundtrip tickets to Berlin rewarding the winning entries, this is an opportunity to tell your stories and apply your ideas not to be missed.
The Wallproject invites you to use words, photographs, videos and sounds to address the issue of barriers and boundaries in your lives.
The Wall Project is looking for real and insightful, interesting and entertaining images and text that capture and symbolize experiences of division drawn from the contestants’ own cultural context, the political history of the Cold War, a divided Europe and the world, or the Wall itself as a symbol.
Contestants should also consider junctures in history marked by extreme change and an individual’s response to such change, whether by acceptance, integration or resistance.
ENTER by sending your work to: contest@wallproject.org (15MB Maxium size requirement.)
Submissions received before 12 AM PST on OCTOBER 31, 2009 will be reviewed and judged by a handpicked jury.
The jury’s selection will be announced at the "The Wall Project Event" on November 8, 2009 at 4 PM PST.
The winner(s) will receive two roundtrip tickets between Los Angeles and Berlin, courtesy of Lufthansa, the Official Airline of The Wall Project.
