CALL FOR ART FOR JURIED "SHELTER" EXHIBITION

October 10 - November 7, 2009

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and A Window Between
Worlds is delighted to partner with two long established, artist-run
galleries in Pomona’s lively downtown art district: dA Center for the
Arts and SCA Project Gallery.

Artists working in all media are invited to interpret or provoke
thought about the theme of SHELTER. Works will be offered for sale. A
nominal fee to enter is detailed in the prospectus. All works selected
must be delivered and retrieved from the gallery by hand.

Juror will view slides, CDs and DVDs. All entry materials must be
labeled with artist’s name, title, medium, date and height/width/
depth. CDs should include a thumbnail print out of images on the CD
that includes the same information but not the artist’s name.
Notifications will be sent on Sept. 26th.

Juror for the show is writer, editor and art critic Stacy Davies.
Davies is the founding editor and art critic for Inland Empire Weekly
or IE Weekly as well as the critic for ARTslant.com. She has also
written for Juxtapoz and Bust Magazine as well as the OC Weekly,
Pasadena Weekly, New Times Phoenix and the OC Register.

NOTE: Shelter will run concurrently with an expansive exhibition at
the dA Center for the Arts focusing on the healing power of art
created by women and children in Windows programs in domestic violence
shelters. Selected by guest curator Sandra Mueller, the show runs
through October with opening receptions for both shows on Sat. Oct.
10th.
