The New York Foundation for the Arts is excited to encourage growth of
artist communities with a new directory focused just for them. Work
Space Classifieds was born, in part with a generous grant from the
Rockefeller Foundation and creative NYFA staffers who felt there was a
great need to find affordable work space and live/work in New York
City.
This pilot program is the only directory focused on New York City
Visual Artists. Special features include images uploads, Google maps
by zip, and advance search “by neighborhood”. Plans have already
been made to broaden this service nationally in the future. For now,
NYFA Offers with this program free postings for visual artists seeking
space, and for landlords, developers, and or others who have this
space available. Each Work Space listing is allowed unlimited text, up
to three image uploads, one web link, and has the ability to be
comment on creating an online interaction with each listing.
We hope you find this service helpful and to ensure its success NYFA
will conduct, phone calls and email surveys to our webusers. NYFA
encourages that you send feedback questions to Program Officer, Erica
Evans at eevans@nyfa.org, She will answer your questions promptly, and
can walk you through this service if you are having difficulty or need
directed to NYFA’s other fabulous services.
Happy Space Seeking,
NYFA
Listings not covered by the Work Space program, (outside the tri
state) as can still be purchased as an Opportunities & Services
Classified page, but may not offer all new features at this time.
Acceptable distance for the free Work Space “available” listing will
be considered as long as they are within reasonable travel time from
New York City, this includes Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island,
Bronx, New Jersey and Connecticut.
