Mr.Mrs. (Howie and Tawny) Create a Costume for this years $0.99 Only Spectacular

timebankimage.jpg

Tawny and I have been invited by costumer to the "Cars" Ann Closs-Farley to design and build a costume for Ms. January of this year's 99cent musical.

Ken Roht's (Orphean Circus) nearly annual 99cent show features a set and costumes COMPLETELY CREATED WITH MATERIALS FROM THE 99CENT ONLY STORE!

As a documentation of our process, as well as a tutorial for anyone interested in working in this style, I will be checking in with a new post every few days...

Our first meeting with Ann was great. She let us "shop" for a whole bag of goodies donated by the 99cent only stores. We grabbed packing tape, plastic tablecloth material, silver "bead" necklaces, shiny car visors (for the front window,) and other miscellaneous materials.

Cathy Stacy Won 1st and 3rd Place Ribbon

Lenny Zakim - 1st Place Ribbon

I competed in a "Dual Projection Format" Competition in the Lynn Photographic Association group that in belong to. I was extremely nervous about this since I am not competitive and no one likes to have their work picked on. But, I did want to learn and grow so I pushed myself to join this monthly competition. Last night was the first competition. We could either enter three slides or three digital prints in different categories. I entered three digital images in the Digital Arts/Creative Category. I had been so nervous about this night since entering. I had wondered if I did the right thing in entering. So, last night I sat there while viewing these beautiful images of other photographers while the judge critiqued them. Then came mine. My first photographed appeared large on the screen.

I Love Making Art

girl painting.jpg

Whether I am coloring alongside a client, throwing clay on a potter’s wheel, or blotting tea bags onto watercolor paper – it feels good to me. Making art allows me to slow down my mind chatter. Why is this useful? Balance. It’s all about balance.
