MILK- A Photo Exhibition by Lukas Gansterer

milk_flyer1.jpg

OPENING: Tuesday 18th of January 7-11 pm
EXHIBITION RUNS: 19th of January- 28th February 2011

Vienna based photographer Lukas Gansterer is the author of the
provocative 2009 photo campaign for the Austrian fashion label Wendy &
Jim & DJ HELL. His work combines realness, acrimony and aesthetic,
fast-forwarding imaginative boundaries.

Porn aesthetics play a vital role in his work. As its name suggests,
this new solo exhibition focuses on the fetish of playing with milk.
In addition to the large scale photographs, the gallery space also
becomes an integral part of the work itself by being covered in
polythene sheets.

Lukas Gansterer's solo exhibition MILK is showing at Unlike Gallery
from the 19th of January-28th of February 2011.

30lx by Virgile Simon Bertrand

VSB_invite_30lx_copy_2.jpg

Event details: Friday 14 January 2011, 6.30pm – 9pm; 2P Contemporary Art Gallery, Shop 5, G/F, 6-20 Po Tuck Street, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong

30 lx or ‘30 lux’ is the minimum light intensity required by the Buildings Department’s Code of Practice for the Provision of Means of Escape. Constructed using low cost materials, devoid of any ornamentation, these compulsory means of escape are perhaps the purest examples of entropic architecture. Virgile Simon Bertrand’s photographic studies draw attention to an inadvertent phenomenon, how despite the common genesis of these architectural features, each offers subtle but surprising structural variations that give rise to an elegantly minimal formal vocabulary.
