In 2022, the Kunstkommission (Art Commission) of the City of Düsseldorf launched an annual format that focuses on the enrichment of contemporary art in public space. Calling all artists! JCAL is seeking visual artists to showcase original artwork for “Trickled Down Decadence: Screams for Hope,” an art exhibition conceived and curated by Wanda Best.

The deadline is July 13th. The exhibition will be on display in JCAL’s galleries from October 26, 2024, to December 14, 2024. Artists selected for this exhibition will each receive a $250.00 stipend.

MUNCH is among Northern Europe’s most visited museums, and houses the largest collection of the world-renowned Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863–1944). In addition to the work of Edvard Munch, modernism and contemporary art make up the three pillars of MUNCH’s exhibition programme. We are now looking to strengthen our curatorial team with a curator in contemporary art and a senior/curator in modernism.

We are thrilled to announce the open call for our Small Press Incubator Program, an opportunity for BIPOC writers and poets to explore book-making and publishing. This 8-week program, running from October 21, 2024, to December 12, 2024, offers studio access, a $2,000 stipend, a $1,000 materials budget, and 30 hours of workshops on Design, Riso Printing, and Bookbinding. Participants will also receive personalized mentorship from industry professionals and have the chance to present their publishing projects at a final public program.
