JOB: BALLET TEACHERS

The Lula Washington Dance Theatre is interviewing potential ballet teachers who can work with inner city children and young adults, mainly African American from South Los Angeles. Teachers must be comfortable working in an inner city environment and must be able to motivate, inspire, and prepare kids from South Los Angeles to be professional concert dancers.

Looking for teachers with experience performing with major ballet companies; or, serving as faculty for first class ballet companies, or schools. We are also interested in people with experience with major modern dance companies. The students at Lula Washington Dance Theatre are being groomed to be performers in modern dance, but, we want to give them a firm ballet foundation upon which to build their technique.

To apply: Send resume via e-mail to Erwin Washington, Executive Director, at luladance@aol.com. We are most interested in people who will see this as less of a job, and more of an opportunity to do important work in the arts.

Salary is negotiable and dates/times of the week are variable.

Location: The Lula Washington Dance Theatre, 3773 S. Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90016.
