The Images Festival and Charles Street Video are pleased to offer a new residency in 2008-2009 for up to five Emerging and Established artists for the creation of a new project. Artists are invited to submit a proposal for jury consideration by March 7, 2008 to create a short work that will premiere at the 2009 Images Festival.

Each artist receives a package valued at approximately $10,000* (emerging) or $18,000* (established), which includes high or standard definition video production and post-production services, an artist fee and a membership at Charles Street Video. The artists selected for this inaugural year-long residency will be announced at this year's Images Festival awards ceremony on Saturday April 12, 2008.

Curse (definition): A curse is the effective action of some power, distinguished solely by the quality of adversity that it brings. A curse may also be said to result from a spell or prayer, imprecation or execration, or other imposition by magic or witchcraft, asking that a god, natural force, or spirit bring misfortune to someone. The forms of curses found in various cultures comprise a significant proportion of the study of religion, folklore, philosophy, cursed places, cursed objects, false curses.
