OPEN CALLS:

Iowa City Experimental Film Festival
October 4th-6th, 2007
Extended DEADLINE: August 15th (postmark)

The first annual ICE Film Festival seeks original and creative film
and video work that challenges its audience to see cinema as a dynamic
and innovative cultural arena. Continuing the legacy of experimental
and underground film exhibition in Iowa City fostered by the Thaw Film
Festival, ICE wants documentary, animation, narrative, performance,
abstract, hand-painted, and none-, or all-of-the-above, films and
videos, that question the usefulness of those very descriptors. Beyond
questions of form, ICE hopes that the entries will explore the hidden
regions of the mind and the world that can be captured or projected
through a lens.

Submissions will be selected by the ICE Screening Committee, and
screened entries will be judged at the festival by jurors Bill Brown
and Naomi Uman. Work completed in any year will be considered for
competition.

Extended DEADLINE: August 15, 2007

FEES: $1.00 per minute, rounded to the nearest minute
