Under the umbrella of the RAK Art Foundation and funded by the US Embassy in Manama, The Art Station is pleased to announce the call for applications for its 2024 residency program. This initiative is designed to foster cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between the United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The residency program invites US citizens active in the fields of writing, curating, art, design, architecture, academia, and other creative practices to apply for a three-month residency in Bahrain. Starting on March 7, 2024, the program offers an exceptional opportunity for cultural immersion and artistic development.

Residency offerings
Duration: 3 months

Benefits: Housing, desk space, a monthly stipend of 1,500 USD, and a 5,300 USD grant for artwork production.

Facilities: Access to The Art Station’s facilities, including 3D printers, a recording studio, a fashion studio, and a photography studio with a darkroom.

Engagement: Residents will collaborate with the Bahraini artistic community, conduct public workshops, and develop a final project in collaboration with Bahraini artists and/or cultural practitioners.

Application details
Application period: January 3–February 10, 2024

Criteria: Applicants must be over 21 years of age, hold US citizenship, and submit a proposal for conducting lectures/workshops, as well as a project proposal for collaboration with one or more artists based in Bahrain.
