KINGSTON ANIMALIA (animal/human rights arts festival) to debut in May

2019 in Kingston, NY

The Institute for Animal Happiness

(www.instituteforanimalhappiness.com) is bringing a vegan-intersectional arts festival to Kingston, NY. The one-day event seeks to bring together artists of all disciples (with a big focus on music and sound, as the venue is a large music space and the street outside) to “Celebrate our Common Animalhood.” Art that has intersectional themes (relating various struggles against oppression across subjects and boundaries), art that honors our kinship with animals and nature, and especially art by vegan artists - will come together for this one-day event that hopes to blur the lines that we use to divide ourselves from non-humans and also, each other. The festival will take place both inside and outside the large venue, flowing onto the street, and we also will have booth space for artists and makers to sell their vegan, cruelty-free, work and fair-trade offerings (announcement of details to come.) There will be vegan food vendors as well.

Local (NYS) artists preferred as there is no budget for transportation/housing, but artists who take part will receive a stipend.

Kingston NY is a beautiful 2 hour bus-ride from Port Authority/NYC.

The Institute for Animal Happiness is a microsanctuary space in Ulster

County, NY that gives haven to some of the most prolifically abused and disregarded beings on earth (chickens), as well as creates artistic and educational events and opportunities that support kindness to animals and awareness/compassion for all.
