ITINERANT 2018

Performance Art Festival NYC

Call for Artists

Deadline: April 29th, Midnight

ITINERANT, the annual Performance Art Festival NYC, invites artists to submit works for consideration in its 8th edition to take place May 17 - 25, 2018 at various venues in the five boroughs in New York City. ITINERANT 2018 will also include an photo exhibition, video showcase, and the one day symposium “Bodies that Matter.”

This year’s festival will focus on works that explore, treat, and propose new alternatives to binary constructions regarding gender, nationality, identity, religion and/or ideological structures. Departing from the current socio/politico/economic transformations around the globe, and the questioning of habitual norms on race/gender/sexuality/origin and reproduction, ITINERANT encourages artists to send their proposals for consideration in the festival’s 2018 edition.

Artists working in contemporary performance art, visual performance art, transmedia performance (sound, video and emerging technologies), movement based performative practices, and video performance are encouraged to apply.
