Job Description:
The Film Education Coordinator assists the Senior Director of Education in the production of high-profile education events for Film Independent and the LA Film Festival. Events include but are not limited to: the Film Independent Forum, Directors Close-Up, LMU Incubator Lab, and LA Film Festival special events.

Duties:
Create and disseminate timeline for a specific number of conferences and events
Collect agenda items for department meetings and record minutes for review
Track progress on all activities related to each event and update as needed
Participate in brainstorming sessions and meetings related to each program
Research topics and potential speakers
Book speakers and field their questions through the booking process--send fact sheets for day of event
Collect all materials from speakers: bios, headshots, releases, handout material, and on-screen content, etc.
Collect materials and compile handouts for the Forum, Directors Close-Up, and LA Film Festival special events and master classes
File creative briefs for invitations, lower 3rds, and other promotional material
Make travel and hotel arrangements for out-of-town guests
Be present at all events to greet guests, set-up/host greenroom, and troubleshoot as needed
File and archive all materials related to each event
Work with Marketing department and Director of Education to establish and execute marketing plan for each event---update marketing timeline and track all marketing materials
Work with Marketing department to post and edit content on Directors Close-Up, LA Film Festival and Forum websites
Recruit, interview, hire, and manage department interns
Generating thank-you letters and wrap materials for year-round programs
Serve as Film Education representative at LA Film Festival orientations, various Film Festivals and networking events
Proctor and/or manage check-in for in-house classes
Assist Senior Director of Education on an as-needed basis on the different projects the Film Education Department produces year-round
Maintain and continue growth of filmmaker resources and materials for the Film Independent website

Requirements:
1 year of event producing or project management experience preferred
General Knowledge of filmmaking, independent film, and filmmakers
Strong organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Eventbrite, Raiser's Edge and WordPress
B.A. degree in Film or related field
Must have reliable transportation
