EMERGENCY is Aspex's biennial open submission group exhibition, which seeks to highlight the work of emerging visual artists working in all media. Submissions can be made by artists from anywhere in the UK or abroad. There are no age restrictions, but undergraduate students must be in their final year of study. The exhibition is not themed.

The selection panel will shortlist ten artists to appear in a group show at Aspex to take place between 27 November 2015 – 11 January 2016

One artist from this group will then be chosen to receive the prize of a solo show at Aspex in 2017 and £1000 fee.

Aspex has a 33-year track record of supporting emerging artists and engaging audiences, through the delivery of a programme of exhibitions, off-site projects and participatory opportunities.

Artists such as Mona Hatoum, Richard Wilson and Susan Collis, all internationally acclaimed, received support from Aspex at an early point in their careers. This work has continued with projects including Emergency, offering key opportunities for artist exposure and professional development.
