Re-Envisioning East 7th Street: A
Design Competition Event kicks off today!

Sponsored in part by The East 7th
Street Collaborative, The Arts Council for Long Beach and the 1st and 2nd
District City Council Offices, this local/regional event encourages the
re-design and re-imagining of East 7th Street (Redondo Ave to Alamitos Ave).
We are seeking fresh modern ideas for what this important corridor could
become in the future! This event looks to explore ideas in Art and
Architecture and how they can relate to our neighborhoods in a functional and
purposeful way.

Professionals and Students are
welcome to apply. There is an honorarium for the top 3 entries and the
top 50 entries will be displayed along the street as part of an October Street
Event.
We are seeking Artists, Designers,
Architects and Digital Artists to create inspirational renderings re-designing
and re-imagining existing buildings along the corridor.

The East 7th Street Collaboration is
a collection of neighborhood associations and local business owners working to
improve East 7th Street in Long Beach. East 7th Street is a major
corridor running through the city which has recently been targeted by 2nd
District Council Member Suja Lowenthal as a major city design project.
East 7th Street Collaboration seeking
to improve building facades, create a more pedestrian friendly infrastructure
and inspire further economic development in hopes of making East 7th Street a
more vital and connected part of our neighborhoods.
