*Rogue Artists Ensemble seeking Video Designer and Programmer*

The Los Angeles art-collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is seeking a VIDEO
DESIGNER AND PROGRAMMER to start work immediately on their production of *
Pinocchio.* This production will start rehearsal in mid-August at the Rogue
space in LA Mart in Downtown LA, and performs Thursday, Friday and Saturday
evenings and Sunday afternoons from October 11th – December 7th at the
Atwater Village Theater.

Rogue Artist Ensemble’s Pinocchio is the Rogue’s tenth anniversary
production. Based on the original story by Carlo Collodi and adapted to the
stage the ensemble, the Rogue’s Pinocchio is a fresh, original take on the
children’s classic. Disney’s Pinocchio this is not.

Carlo Collodi penned The Adventures of Pinocchio as a serial between
1881-1883 for children, but with a knowing wink to adults. Its simple
surface lessons urging young boys to behave and go to school belie deeper
issues of free spirit, anarchy, and ones place in society.

The right thing is to go to school, but who wouldn’t rather be goofing off
at the puppet show? It is the Rogue’s plan to tackle this tale with a keen
eye on the modern relevance of its central message: The great struggle
between free spirit and morality, duty and more selfish pursuits. With
Pinocchio we have set out to not only explore the original intentions of
Colloid’s work, but also to truly update it’s telling in bold and daring
ways creating a highly modern and relevant piece of Hyper-theater.
