AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

A Noise Within, California’s home for the Classics, is currently seeking
acting and production interns for our Fall 2013 Season. Productions include
*Pericles*,* The Guardsman*, *Endgame*, and *A Christmas Carol*. Acting
Interns are challenged to apply their talents in all areas, from analyzing
a classic text to running lights and sound for a production. Professional
internships at A Noise Within are training opportunities where developing
theatre artists can hone their skills in Acting, Production, and Theatre
Management. Each acting intern is cast in a supporting role in one or more
plays during the rotating repertory season. Interns may also be given
understudy assignments. Interns are immersed in 90+ hours of training
designed to develop the whole artist. Course topics include: acting
Shakespeare, speech, textual analysis & scansion, a scene study course that
culminates in a workshop presentation for an invited audience. Interns gain
hands-on experience in one technical department (stage management, props,
costumes, sets, lights, sound) and are a part of the changeover crew that
facilitates the repertory schedule

Fall Interns must be available between Aug. 5-Dec. 30, 2013 at the theatre
in Pasadena, CA. Housing is not provided. On average, interns work between
20-40 hours a week. Classes are held Monday evenings. Rehearsals, Technical
Calls, and Performances will be Tuesdays-Sundays with 9 weekday student
matinees.Interns are required to pay a tuition fee of $550 ($50 application
fee is applied towards tuition if accepted) for 12 weeks of conservatory
classes.
