CALL FOR ENTRIES: WorldFest First Art Exhibit, May 19th 2013

Exhibition Background
The WorldFest 2013 Earth Day Festival will be held at the beautiful outdoor setting of Woodley Park in Lake Balboa, CA. We welcome our attendees to a magnificent day filled with entertainment, education and enlightenment. The combination of great music, empowering speakers, environmental, humanitarian and animal welfare non-profits, kids' activities and a delicious food court make for an earth-friendly experience that is sure to be inspiring and enjoyable for all. WorldFest is proud to announce it's inaugural art exhibition focusing on the concept, "The Message of Worldfest".
Some examples of potential subjects may include:

Compassion: animal rights, pet adoption, empathy.

Sustainability: clean energy, recycling, homesteading, ecology

Health: Veganism and vegetarianism, nutrition, exercise

Social Justice: Peace, equality, non-violence

Deadlines:

May 1st 2013: Submission Deadline. Email 1-5 images (JPEG, PDF or TIFF) to Art Director at Lawrence@worldfestevents.com. Please include the artist name and contact info in the email.
May 17th 2013: Deadline for mailed art submissions
May 18th 2013: Art must be delivered on site by no later than 5:30pm
May 19th 2013: Art must be collected by the artists or an assigned representative.
May 20th 2013: Deadline to pick up art on site.

Guidelines:

Qualifications: This exhibition is open to artists of all levels and experience. Preference will be given to artists who are based in Los Angeles County, but it is open to all artists who wish to submit. Please note that art that is mailed to the art director must arrive by April 17th at the risk of the artist. WorldFest is not responsible for loss or damage (We recommend using insured mail). Mail submissions to 5442 Ebey Avenue, Los Angeles, CA attn. Lawrence.

Artwork Size: Paintings/photographs/drawings/paintings, ect must be larger than 10"x10" and no larger than 36" x 36" unless special arrangements are made. Three-dimensional pieces such as sculpture, costumes, ect. must all be arranged with the art team.

Fees: Artists will not be charged a fee to enter the festival. They will receive a parking pass and free admission for themselves and one guest. To take advantage of the free guest offer, the artist must arrive at the same time as their guest.

Images: Images submitted for consideration should be an easy to open image file. Preferred format is JPEG, PDF, and TIFF. Please indicate size, medium, and title for each image. Links to websites or on-line portfolios are also acceptable

Display: Photographs, drawings, and other 2D art should be neatly mounted on board, or similar backing and neatly cropped or framed and matted. Framed work should have adequate hardware to be hung on plywood walls. Size is variable for 3D works (sculpture, costumes, ect).

Insurance: WorldFest is non profit with a small budget, so we cannot offer insurance. We will have the art area watched over by docents and security.

Merchandise Sales: Artists are encouraged to take advantage of the five thousand patrons of WorldFest and consider being an exhibitor. Artists can rent a 10'x10' booth at a reduced rate of $250. In addition, two artists can share a space. This must be arranged through the art director.
