Students in South America can submit work to this documentary festival in Curitiba, Brazil.

Les Impatientes is accepting submissions for its Festival Internacional do Documentário Estudantil (FIDÉ), which aims to promote student documentary production worldwide. FIDÉ has been held for four years in France and will come to Brazil in November for the first time. The specific date and location have yet to be determined.

Students enrolled in university or any other type of educational institution can submit work.

The festival, which is not a competitive event, showcases work that goes beyond the typical standard of traditional media. It aims to create a space for debate, exchange of experiences and cooperation between the public, students and professionals.

Documentaries can be of any length, format, production year, nationality and theme. If they are not in Portuguese, they must include captions or a dialogue list in Portuguese, or, if not possible, in Spanish.

The submission deadline is August 20.
