Latin America -- Photo contest promotes girls' rights

AMP's picture

Professional photographers in Latin America can participate in this contest.

Organized by the Plan International and news agency EFE, the competition invites photographers to submit their work to the photography contest and exhibit "Because I am a Girl." Submissions should address the exclusion of girls in Latin America and highlight and how they live day-to-day.

The pictures must depict girls in one of the 13 countries where Plan International is active: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Peru.

The selected photos may be displayed at various commercial centers and other locations in the participating countries on Oct. 11, in celebration of the International Day of the Girl.

The application deadline is Sept. 4.
