INTERIM DIRECTOR OF BLUE RIBBON

June through November 2012

The Music Center, Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County, one of
the nation's premier performing arts institutions, is seeking an
Interim Director for the Blue Ribbon.

The Blue Ribbon is seeking an Interim Director for the period June 2012
through November 2012 on an interim basis the position will be
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Blue Ribbon office,
with focus on the execution of events.

Reporting to the Blue Ribbon President the Interim Director of Blue
Ribbon establishes and maintains positive contact with Blue Ribbon Board
members; liaises and maintains necessary contact with Resident Companies
and other Music Center departments. Oversee a budget of approximately
$500,000 supervises and directs the activities of one fulltime employee,
at times may oversee other staff and volunteers.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Responsible for working closely with Blue Ribbon leadership to help
define short and long term goals for the organization and its members as
well as initiating actions steps to reach the identified goals.

Ensuring fundraising goals are met each fiscal year along with
supporting growth of the organization by organizing solicitation drives
for pledges of on-going support from existing and prospective members,
including actively encouraging members to submit qualified candidates
for membership.

Responsible for conceptualizing and coordination of a variety of events
including all related logistic coordination including but not limited to
coordination of reservations and seating, special needs request, and
travel arrangements for visiting guest and speakers.

Administering and reconciling membership contributions, special purpose
Blue Ribbon projects contributions, as well as event-related payments,
including preparing and administering, under the direction of the Blue
Ribbon President, comprehensive budget and expense projections for the
office. Will obtaining proper expenditures approval as directed by the
Blue Ribbon President.

Assist President of the Blue Ribbon in scheduling and planning of events
and numerous other tasks, as indicated.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

· A Bachelors Degree or equivalent required.

· Must possess the minimal of 5 years of event planning
experience, non-profit experience is desirable.

· Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills; verbal and written; with ability to make presentations.

· Excellent customer service skills: diplomacy and tact;
approachable; must be very discreet.

· Strong problem-solving skills; effective listener;
motivated, enthusiastic; work well with other while under pressure

· Computer savvy in Word, Excel, Power Point and Tessitura

· Flexible work schedule to work evenings and weekends.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$72,000 per year commensurate with experience this
position is exempt.
