* Visual Arts

Artist/Mentors work with TOHYF staff to custom-design programs for sites assigned prior to and during each program assigned, which typically consist of 2-hour workshops conducted sequentially once or twice per week for 13 weeks in an assigned program. Artists-In-Residents are required to administer tests, complete paperwork required by TOHYF and site administration, and attend one orientation meeting and one team meeting outside of class time during the program term. Pay is a flat fee based on number of hours allotted to each assigned program, and varies depending on program site and location.

Please email an updated professional resume', including recent performances, recordings, publications, exhibitions and awards. TOHYF will review your submission and contact you for an interview.

At the interview, you will be asked to provide additional materials, such as sample lesson plans and samples of your work (e.g., a portfolio, slides, video, CD, DVD, etc.) along with professional references.

If you are accepted, Artists-In-Residents must provide their own transportation, a valid CA driver's license, and proof of a negative TB test. You will also be required to obtain and pass a CA DOJ and FBI background check at an agency designated by TOHYF.

Candidates should email cover letters, resumes and samples/links to online work samples to: programcoordinator@theatreofhearts.org
