AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

The Painted Brain is seeking submissions for the Issue 7 of its magazine
by the same name. The theme for this issue is "Identity". Deadline for
submissions is March 4, 2011.

Issue 7 will be released in April 2011 at our 2nd Annual Gallery Show in
Downtown LA. (Details coming soon).

For the past 2 issues we have featured a "Beginner's Guide to mental
illness", which provides insights from young adults affected by mental
illness. For Issue 7, we will continue our Beginner's Guide with a focus
on medication. We are especially interested in publishing commentary
about the pros & cons of psychiatric medication from young adults who
have experience with this.

The Painted Brain is a media & outreach
campaign created by young adults with mental illness. Our mission is to
eradicate the stigma of mental illness, foster thriving social
relationships and create a community of young adults. We intend to
cultivate a society in which individuals with mental illness are
understood, cared about and empowered to make their voices and
perspectives heard in the public media. The Painted Brain is a project
of community partners, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
