Vox Novus call for recorded works 60 seconds or less (upload by 12/31)

Vox Novus In collaboration with ICMC (International Computer Music
Conference 2010) is inviting composers to submit recorded works 60 seconds
or less in length to be included in its seventh annual 60x60 project. 60
compositions will be selected to be played continuously in a one-hour
concert.

The 60x60 concert season will have multiple performances in several
different mixes and multi-media throughout the world. Mixes planned for
60x60 2010 include the International Mix, 360 degrees of 60x60 at ICMC, the
UnTwelve Mix (including only microtonal works) as well as any other past mix
(i.e. Midwest Mix, UK Mix, etc) where more than 60 submissions are received.

Call for Submissions: January iotaSalon!

iotaSalon: January 7th, 2010

Start out the new year by coming out to the iotaSalon on January 7th. The theme for this screening is Text and Speech. We will be examining works that explore the confluence of abstraction and language. What choices do artists make when using text in abstraction? How do speech and poetry compliment or complicate visuals?

We are still accepting submissions for the Salon, so if you have any work you would like to screen and discuss, please submit it to us.

India film festival seeking film submissions from around the world (deadline December 31)

Filmmakers from around the world are encouraged to submit short films and documentaries to an international film competition being held in Jaipur, India. Deadline: December 31.

The Jaipur International Film Festival will be judging films in two categories: short films, not exceeding 15 minutes, and documentaries, not exceeding 30 minutes.

Submissions must have been shot between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2009. If a film is in a language other than English or Hindi, English subtitles are required.

The Festival will designate a judging panel who will issue final decisions. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to directors and producers of winning submissions.

Singaporean video makers invited to submit short works to competition

A competition for Singaporean video makers invites submissions of video entries no longer than three minutes under the theme "Learn Media Live Media."

The Creative Video Awards welcomes video entries in four categories: Overall Best Video, Best Story, Best Picture and Best Audio. Winners will be announced on January 23, 2010. The overall best video will be awarded SGD3,000 (US$2,166) and other winners will receive SGD1,000 (US$722).

The competition is being held by the Singapore Media Academy.
