From October 2009 to March 2010, will take place the 5th edition of Magmart | video under volcano, international videoart festival.
The Festival is realized in partnership with CAM - Casoria Contemporary Art Museum and PAN - Palazzo delle Arti Napoli.

CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year Competition

CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) runs the Environmental Photographer of the Year, which is one of the fastest growing photographic competitions in the world. In 2009 we received nearly 2,500 entries from photographers in over 60 countries.

This is a serious competition that seeks to celebrate photographers who use their ability to raise awareness of environmental and social issues. It is open to all professional and amateur international photographers of any ages and encourages entries that are contemporary, creative, experimental, resonant, original and beautiful.

The Los Angeles Opera has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director of Development, Major Gifts who will be responsible for overseeing the patron program and implementing various strategies to acquire new donors and renewals of gifts. Some activities will include hosting meals with donors and prospects, attending performances, and otherwise representing the L.A. Opera in a positive fashion to the donor community.

Qualified candidates will have a BA or BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience in addition to at least 5 years of experience in development, especially for a non-profit arts organization. This position must be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed.

The Standby Program will accept projects for registration until January 15, 2010

The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) awards grants of up to
$25,000 for the production of film, video, media or new technology project.

Because NYSCA cannot fund individuals directly, all applications to the
Individual Artists program must be submitted through a fiscal sponsor like
The Standby Program.

All genres are eligible to apply. Please note that eligible documentary
projects are currently restricted to those in post-production and require a
15-minute work sample as part of the application.
