"We live at an unusual moment, when queer and trans sensibilities are flourishing in a way I have not seen since the ‘70s. It's important to seize this moment and create opportunities that give safe and nourishing space to this phenomenon, to counteract the environment of distrust and even persecution that remains our everyday lot, despite our many advances. FIAR does this in spades." —AA Bronson

Nes Art Residency is pleased to announce that there is space available for the spring and autumn in the residency in Skagastrond Iceland.
Nes
Nes artist residency was founded in the beginning of March 2008 in the town of Skagastrőnd and the first artists arrived in June.
As an international artist residency, Nes provides artists with a workspace and living quarters during their stay in Skagastrőnd. The town was a trading and fishing town for centuries. With the fishing industry decreasing in the last decade, the former fishing plant at Fjőrubraut 8 has now found a new role housing the Nes artist residency studios.
Deadline: Friday, March 30 by 6:00 p.m.

The theme of your work should be how you see the urbanized coast and ocean and what they mean to you. To be considered, art MUST be appropriate for a family audience.
