This ensemble was made of five locations:
Concordia University (Montreal) - Concordia Laptop Orchestra
University of California, San Diego
New York University
Queens University Belfast
Hamburg Hochschule of Music

The aggregate telematic ensemble consisted of 35 performers with the following instruments: Laptops, oboe, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, tuba, violin, voice, accordion, pianos, fender Rhoads, electric/tabletop guitar, bass, drums, percussion.

The introductory course in March is opens the door towards the new collaboration project in Russia in autumn 2012 - the six-week period of performance creation in a Russian repertory theatre together with Russian actors and performers from different countries! The full course programme includes the long-distance training, the practical residential sessions, and the secondment in the Russian repertory theatre, where the international performance will take place.

AVAMAA is a unique symposium for art and ideas hosted every summer by
MoKS, an artist run organization and residency center in the rural
village of Mooste Estonia. AVAMAA encourages creative interventions in
the local context and the exchange of ideas through the platform of a
living workshop. AVAMAA roughly translates as 'open land'. The central
idea for AVAMAA 2012 is to create a temporary "village" or camp we call
Moksville, out of affordable recyclable and locally sourced materials.

Over the course of the last eight years, during which FLOOD has worked with the Long Beach Arts District in mounting the annual SoundWalk event, it has become apparent that there is not only an openness to creative experimentation, but there is also strong desire for self-expression among the business owners and residential organizations who have partnered with FLOOD by graciously providing spaces and venues to SoundWalk artists.

With an approach to curation that has as much to do with collaborative performance as it does exhibition, we as FLOOD seek to mobilize diverse groups of individuals to create artwork that is innovative and culturally relevant

ABOUT THE DANCE RESOURCE CENTER (DRC):
The Dance Resource Center of Greater Los Angeles is a service organization that provides the dance community access to information, resources and services; and promotes the visibility and awareness of Greater Los Angeles dance on local, state and national levels.

We are currently seeking two interns for our spring season. Internships are unpaid, but students may be able to receive school credit. Interns will also receive a student/affiliate DRC annual membership, which entitles them to a wide range of benefits (including advertising opportunities and discounts on shows, performances and events, plus free access to all DRC events).
