Barbed Magazine explores new works and artists with special emphasis on those working on relational and confessional art, in mixed media, documentation, process, and residual art. INTERN: Public engagement and Event Production for media art series (Los Angeles)

Freewaves is launching a new series called Dis…Miss, a multi-genre, public visual art experience, with media and performing arts components, addressing fantasies and realities of gender polarization in local and mass media. The series features commissioned works from 20 outstanding L.A. visual artists. Launching with 25 video pieces, works also include postcards, posters, signage, billboards, and performances. Through this initiative, Freewaves hopes to open new avenues of thought and stimulate dialogue on inter-gender relationships.
