We look for an engaged and a self-reliant person who enjoys team working in the field of audience-oriented, inclusive art practices and wants to:

• prepare and present together with our team of curators & archivists a screening program with videos from the WRO archive & collection within the cycleTapes: Rewind. The theme of the program would refer to William Gibson's Neuromancer's opening sentence: 'The sky above the port was the color of television tuned to a dead channe.l'
• propose and carry out a 1-3 day long workshop (or another form of creative activity) connected with his/her practice and the actual process of elaborating the WRO archive, and curate a screening program

The Media Art Biennale WRO 2017 DRAFT SYSTEMS and the ongoing exhibition presenting its audiovisual documentation provide the context for the activities conducted during the residency. The workshop / activity shall be conceived for a certain target audience, preferably for & with students, grown-up and senior citizens.

The selected person will be offered:
• a free accommodation in an apartment at the Edith-Stein-House in Wrocław
• a work place in the premises of the WRO Art Center (there's no separate studio)
• a residency grant of 600 EUR (calculated on the basis of 20 EUR/day)
• travel cost refund of max. 250 EUR
• budget for workshop materials in the amount of max. 200 EUR

Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw plays since 1965 a major role as an open space for encounters between the Polish audiences and the Austrian and Polish artists, cultural activists and scientists.

Artist In Residence Programme AIR Wro, a legacy programme of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016, supports activities of individuals representing various fields of art and culture or active in border areas between them, interested in cooperating with representatives of local communities and environments as well as eager to build international cultural relations.
