Description:

The RETI Center (The Resilience, Education, Training and Innovation Center) is a non-profit hub in New York City dedicated to partnering with organizations in the education, business, and workforce development sectors to enhance their engagement with social and ecological resilience. We are holding our inaugural conference, “Our Next Economy: A Forum on Building Resilience and Workforce Development in Brooklyn,” and are seeking submissions for a one-day art installation to accompany our Resilient Product and Project EXPO in Red Hook, Brooklyn on Saturday, November 19th.

We are looking for installations focused on an aspect of climate change and/or resilience advocacy. We are particularly interested in artwork that reflects on the local experience of these issues in New York City. Square footage of space will vary based on proposals. We can provide wall space, open space for sculpture, and access to the exterior area at the entrance of the building. Paintings, sculpture, interactive work, digital media, sound installations, and design proposals are welcome.

Artists and their work will be listed on the RETI Center EXPO website and featured during our social media campaign. Work will be displayed in our conference space at a historical waterfront warehouse, located at 202 Coffey Street, Red Hook, Brooklyn. See http://www.coffeystreetstudios.com/location-info for a virtual tour of the space.

The selections will be determined by the RETI Center Advisory Committee, based on appropriateness to the topic, installation methods, size and quality.
