Malmö Konsthall is the home of contemporary art. Here visitors encounter the most exciting and topical art—local, regional and international. With its great flexibility, generous space and fantastic light, the unique building gives Malmö Konsthall a strong profile and strength. Malmö Konsthall has about 200,000 visitors annually and is one of six institutions within the Malmö Department of Culture.

Job description
Malmö Konsthall has a deliberate ambition to attract new visitors by offering the greatest possible openness and accessibility.

The objectives of Malmö Konsthall:
–To produce and exhibit a number of Swedish and international exhibitions of topical contemporary art
–To facilitate cooperative ventures both internationally and nationally but also to be an active arena for the regional art scene
–To have the ambition, by means of generous opening hours plus an engaging and varied programme, to reach visitors of all ages and from all social groups regardless of cultural background
–To organise exhibition activities in the public space in order to reach a new audience

The position is within the Department of Culture of the City of Malmö, which is a politically governed organisation. Your immediate superior will be Cultural Director Elisabeth Lundgren.

Qualifications
We are seeking a visionary leader who is creative and full of ideas. You are flexible and secure in your leadership role and have high integrity. As a leader you can analyse the world around you and work strategically with development issues for the future of Malmö Konsthall. You can prioritise and are used to working under time constraints. You have good organisational ability and respect deadlines.

You have the ability to create qualitative relationships, participation and credibility for your work within the organisation.

You are communicative and can reason and debate. You write well. You have great interest in and engagement with art educational activities as well as social and cultural issues.

We are seeking someone with a university degree in the field of art/culture or a corresponding background that we consider to be the equivalent. One requirement is that you have in-depth and documented knowledge about contemporary art plus solid experience of exhibition production both nationally and internationally.

It is an advantage if you have documented managerial/leadership training and experience of working in a leadership role.

You will have documented work experience from the cultural sphere as well as a large national and international network.

We presume that you are a good communicator and can easily express yourself verbally and in writing.
