Artistic Program Manager

Job Description Overview
The Artistic Program Manager works under the direction of the Artistic Director and in collaboration with the Executive Director and Production Manager to manage all artistic aspects of the organization including event programing/producing, repertoire development, and communication of artistic intent to staff and internal constituencies. In addition, he/she works with the Executive Director and Artistic Director on education and community engagement programming. This includes developing and implementing educational music experiences for youth in Southern California, with a focus on youth in residential care facilities in the San Gabriel Valley. Duties include representing MUSE/IQUE with educational institutions and in the community, collaborating with the Lead Educator in curriculum presentation and planning, and fostering relationships with new/continuing education partners and artists.

Duties and Responsibilities

ARTISTIC PRODUCING, PLANNING AND RESEARCH DUTIES INCLUDE:

* Research artists, music, historic background; compile and track scholarship behind each event

* Assist program planning with artistic director

* Facilitate communication with artists, build and maintain artist relationships

* Maintain records of all meetings, ideas discussed, and action items for each event/artist/project

* Review press and marketing materials pertaining to artistic content

FUTURE PLANNING DUTIES INCLUDE:

* Manage planning calendar, research future ideas, brainstorm programming, and

* Outreach to new artists; attend concerts of potential future artists

* Identify possible venues with production manager and outreach team

EDUCATION AND OUTREACH DUTIES INCLUDE:

* Development and management of curriculum in partnership with lead educator

* Planning and scheduling of education services

* Communication with education team, foster/at-risk youth partners, and potential future partners

* Communication with artists in organizing presentations at partner locations

* Research/presentation of the artists and music when team leader or artistic director is unavailable

* Create other potential youth programs with community outreach team
