We are excited to announce the open call for the Spring 2016 Fellowship!

Applications due March 28 by 11:59PM. See our guidelines at http://www.culturepush.org/guidelines/

Artists and other creative professionals are encouraged to apply with ideas for projects that expand their practice beyond its traditional boundaries. The Fellowship for Utopian Practice is a process-based fellowship, and Culture Push will help Fellows develop big ideas that have real world applications.

We are looking for highly interactive projects that engage the public and push the boundaries of how art can exist in the world. The Fellows will have a year-long tenure that begins in the Spring of 2016, and will receive logistical, institutional and financial support.

This is the fifth year of the Fellowship for Utopian Practice. The Fellowship was started in 2012 and provides an opportunity for artists and other professionals to experiment with new forms of civic engagement and social practice. In these past four years we have supported nineteen socially engaged projects that explore diverse subjects such as the architecture and choreography of civil resistance, the legacy of black female authors, the ways making and movement can empower and humanize those on the margins of society, public access and redesign of NYC waterways, accessible forms of sustainability, theater as a mode of political inquiry, and crowdsourced portraiture of a neighborhood in a state of change.

Please review the updated guidelines on our website for instructions on how to apply.

Submissions are due March 28 by 11:59PM.
