2016 Visual Arts Grants
Eight for Artistic Research and Production and two for Curatorial and Museum management

Fundación Botín is pleased to announce the 24th call for Artistic Research and Production Grants and the 12th convening of Grants for Exhibition Curatorship and Museum Management. The deadlines for applications are May 6 for the former and May 13 for the latter.

The Fundación Botín Grants for Artistic Research and Production are meant to support individual art projects that may consist of training (academic or not), research (non-academic), and production. Artists of any nationality may apply.

Eight grants of 23,000 Euros each will be awarded, for a period of nine months. Two of these grants will be given in priority to Spanish artists under the age of 30 who have a concrete project of relocating abroad to carry out their project (training, research, and production).

They must then submit an application in print via regular mail on or before May 6. The name of the grantees will be announced online on Fundación Botín's website on July 4.

Fundación Botín also offers two Exhibition Curatorship and Museum Management Grants, which purpose is to support specialized academic training abroad for young Spanish professionals in the field of contemporary visual arts. Each grant of 18,000 Euros may be complimented by the payment of tuition fees up to 12,000 Euros. Applicants must be citizens of Spain, aged 22 to 40, and graduate or postgraduate students in the fields of Fine Art, Art History, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities, or Art Crticism. Professionals who do not hold academic credentials must demonstrate outstanding ability in curatorial or museum management practice. Applications must include official acceptance in the study program of the applicant's choice.
