The Boghossian Foundation is seeking to appoint a Director to succeed Diane Hennebert, who has led the institution with distinction since 2008. Opened to the public in 2010 in a landmark art-deco building of Brussels—Villa Empain, the Boghossian Foundation is one of the major private foundations of Belgium, promoting dialogue between the cultures of the East and West.

The Boghossian Foundation develops temporary exhibitions, as well as cultural programs including live arts, talks and lectures. Its values are based on the concept of discovery, dialogue and exchange between cultures, epochs, regions and techniques. The new Director will take up the appointment in spring 2015, and will lead the second phase of development of the Boghossian Foundation.

Mission of the Director
–Implement and grow the curatorial strategic vision of the institution
–Develop the image of the Foundation in Belgium and abroad
–Manage the team and ensure the quality of the services (activities, standard, personnel, maintenance...)
–Represent the Foundation projects in Belgium and abroad, regional and international partnerships, educational projects, prizes, welcoming personalities, communication…
–Report regularly on the progress in the delivery of the project to the President of the Foundation and the Board of trustees
–Propose and ensure a yearly balanced budget approved by the Board
–Propose innovative policies involving different kinds of public and mediation, collaborations aimed notably at schools, universities and institutions
–Work collaboratively with the local governmental institutions and with all cultural and tourism partners of the region
–Prospect for active sponsorship strategy and partnership agreements

Requirements
–Extensive knowledge in art history
–Strong managerial experience to lead a project in the cultural sector
–Ability to initiate new orientations
–Understanding of Belgian and international cultural scene
–Polyvalence to work across disciplines and projects
–Strong network of contacts, helping in the expansion of the Foundation
–Fluent in French or Dutch, and English; knowledge of a third language is highly appreciated
–High availability

Applications should include a cover letter, a detailed CV and a short outline (2–3 pages) of a proposed program for the development of the institution. Your application will be treated confidentially.

A commission composed of members of the board of trustees representing the Boghossian Foundation shall be established under the authority of the President of Boghossian Foundation. This commission will examine the received applications and establish a first shortlist of candidates by the end of 2014. It will then proceed to interview the selection in January 2015.
