Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Has Announced Grants Totaling $2.52M to 10 Nonprofit Organizations Working to Advance Education Reform in California.

The grants will support programs that address K-12 and community college policy-related issues such as standards and accountability, data systems, teacher effectiveness, college readiness, and financial reform. Kordant Philanthropy Advisors Releases Report on Challenges and Opportunities for Education Donors in India. India has a middle class of over 300 million and another 400 million live below the poverty line. With such a high population, cultivating an educated workforce offers many social and economic opportunities for the country. Because of its high social return on investment, education is a key issue for donors wanting to bring about social change in India. The report, Education in India: An Overview of Challenges and Philanthropic Opportunities, released by Kordant Philanthropy Advisors, explores the challenges in India’s primary and higher education system as well as vocational and skills training. It also provides some high-level opportunities for donors and examples of innovative groups tackling this issue. A to Z GRANTWRITING INSTRUCTOR AND CONSULTANT - ARTIST LINDA VALLEJO

Linda Vallejo recently received a 2014 COLA Fellowship from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Vallejo’s paintings “The Electrics” are featured in “Tapping the Third Realm” a collaborative project between Otis College of Art and Design Ben Maltz Gallery and Loyola Marymount University Laband Art Gallery, Exhibition Dates: September 22 - December 8, 2013. A solo exhibition Vallejo’s newest series “Make ‘Em All Mexican” will be featured at the New Mexico State University Art Gallery from October 25-December 20, 2013.
