A RECORD YEAR FOR IAAD:
THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF DEGREES ARRIVES
Torino will have 5 new degree programs

March 13th, 2013 will remain a historic day for IAAD: from MIUR comes the notice of the publication of the Ministerial Decree with which IAAD is authorized to issue degrees that are legally recognized in Italy.

The new degrees are 5: Transportation Design, Product Design, Communication Design, Interior Design, Textile and Fashion Design.

A turning point for the historic school of design of Torino, which, less than one year after the signing of a European agreement and ready to move in the new site within the next Lavazza headquarters (the transfer will take place in August 2013) formally enters the world of Italian university, distinguishing with the legal value of the degrees.

This is a determinant recognition for IAAD, which is now officially part of the Italian university. ' It's not a technicality - says Laura Milani, IAAD Director - is a major milestone for our school which for 35 years deals with design and finally can talk on par with the Italian university in its more dignified meaning.'
'This is a major achievement for the City - says Tom Dealessandri, Deputy Mayor of Torino and spokesman of the application for IAAD accreditation - Turin believes in this reality and in university education as a vehicle of excellence in Italy and in the world and as a tool for constant growth.'

The path for recognition is marked by important milestones, each of which exceeded thanks to the presence of an 'Institutional support committee' that formally endorsed the initiative throughout the bureaucracy at the Ministry. In the 'Institutional support committee', Regione Piemonte, Comune di Torino, Provincia di Torino, a Camera di commerce di Torino, Unione Industriale, Confindustria Giovani Imprenditori, CNA and Confartigianato, Compagnia di San Paolo and the main national associations of design and communication, confirming the will of a cohesive territory.

After six years of bureaucratic process, during which IAAD has grown and has partnered with over one hundred national and international industrial excellences - among them, to name a few, Volkswagen, Renault, Fiat, Yamaha, Trunks, Mizuno, Frau, BasicNet and events such as Bologna Motor Show and View Conference - this goal will allow IAAD and its students to access to the Italian European and international university world, with all the papers in order and to enter the world of work as young and seriously skilled professionals.

In september 2012, Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) and the Ecoles de Condè have announced the signing of an important strategic partnership which will result in the integration of these two units within a wider reality.
Through this partnership, unique in its kind, the two institutions will give a new dimension to their educational projects which will give a truly European value: at the beginning of 2013, the courses France-Italy and Italy-France will be accessible to students of both schools. Among the joint projects, new courses, new teaching models and new locations will be considered in order to increase opportunities for students.
