Grand Performances is soliciting proposals for the purpose of engaging a consultant with expertise in leading a strategic planning process.

About Grand Performances:
In 2013 Grand Performances will be celebrating its 27th summer of presenting free performing arts that reflect the best of global
culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los Angeles. The organization is nationally known for
providing Angelenos with an eclectic mix of high quality performing arts by
world-renowned artists across genres. With programming reflective of the many
cultural interests of people across the region, Grand Performances hosts
America's most diverse audience. All are welcome to enjoy this unique,
awe-inspiring venue nestled under the spectacular Downtown skyline.

Grand Performances is currently nearing the end of its existing
five-year strategic plan, and the Board of Directors has signaled its desire to
have the next iteration of its strategic plan led by an outside expert. Grand Performances is seeking an expert who can
help lead a planning process that uses a fact based approach with continual
board involvement and direction, establishes clear metrics to measure success,
and creates a formalized shared belief that unifies the organization in its
strategic direction.

Grand Performances was created as part of a master-plan for
California Plaza conceived by the City of Los Angeles’ Community Redevelopment
Agency. The plan, which included the
development of the Museum of Contemporary Art, high-rise office buildings, a
hotel and apartments, called for significant ongoing financial support for the
performing arts program from the owners of the Plaza’s corporate buildings. Incorporated as a non-profit in 1996, Grand
Performances has a dedicated board, secured grants from leading philanthropic,
government and other sources, and is directed by a nationally respected staff
of arts professionals, some who have been with the organization since its
earliest years.

Scope of Work:

spring 2013 until at least summer 2014. Consultant will be responsible for driving the strategic planning
