Outfest - Internship Opportunities (Los Angeles)

Outfest seeks motivated, enthusiastic individuals for five different intern
opportunities. Interns will be asked to take leadership roles and will
beencouraged to add their own voice and talents to the organization.

*Qualifications and Experience:*
Internship candidates must possess strong writing and phone skills; they
must be self-motivated, positive, and well-organized team players. Computer
knowledge is required, including but not limited to: Internet research,
Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

*Internship Specifications:*
Outfest requires a minimum commitment of 10-20 hours a week, sometime
between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Internship schedules are
variable, and each intern will work with their department supervisor to
build a schedule that works for them and also meets the needs of the
department. *All Outfest internships may be eligible for college credit.**

*Available Positions *

* **Membership/Events Intern *

Our Individual Giving department produces two membership campaigns
annually, including mailings, outreach and a series of events for both new
and existing members. The Membership/Events Intern will assist in the
creation, development, execution, dissemination and tracking of these
campaigns. The Intern will work closely with the Director of Individual
Giving to help renew memberships, secure new members, and create and
implement our events around the campaign. The Membership/Major Donor Intern
must be a detail oriented, multi-tasker with energy and a sharp eye for
detail who would enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds.

*Executive Intern*

The Executive Intern would serve as a vital support to the Executive
Director of a large non-profit organization. Working closely with the
Executive Director will afford the intern exposure and understanding to the
role an E.D. plays in stewarding a large non-profit organization. This
intern will perform a variety of activities including: short web-based
research, maintenance/organization of files, assisting in the preparation
for meetings and administrative and logistical support as needed.

*Corporate Relations Intern *

Sponsorships are a vital sources of income for Outfest. The Sponsorship
Department Intern is responsible for assisting the Director of Corporate
Relations & Strategic Partnerships in their management of four simultaneous
sponsorship campaigns [The Legacy Awards, Fusion 2013, 2013 Outfest LA,
Outfest NY/NewFest]. Responsibilities include researching sponsor
prospects, managing and updating the sponsorship database, organizing
special projects and mailings, among many other roles within the
department. If you are interested in learning how Outfest garners
contributions through corporate philanthropy and marketing, this is the
internship for you!

*New Media Intern *

New Media is responsible for basic in-office IT support; working as a
liaison between Media consultants; oversee all web updates; assisting in
campaign e-communication and managing e-communication; maintaining various
social media platforms; and additional responsibilities assigned by the
Senior Director External Affairs. The New Media intern responsibilities
include building & maintaining e-communication, maintaining weekly
e-communication stats, updating websites, assisting with maintaining social
media platforms, and general office responsibilities.*
*

*Grants Administration Intern*

The Grants intern will work with the Senior Director of Internal Affairs
and is responsible for assisting in the tracking, management, deliverables
and drafting of current grants and grants applications. Duties include:
data entry and clean up in FileMaker database, ensure timely follow up via
email/phone to gather information as needed, invoicing, and administrative
duties such as copying, filing, correspondence. Ideal candidate must have
Microsoft Office skills (excel and word), be pro-active/self-starter and
detail oriented and a capacity to work independently and collaboratively on
projects.
